Η Σοφία Ζαραμπούκα γράφει και εικονογραφεί τα βιβλία της για παιδιά, που τώρα πια ξεπερνούν τα εκατό. Σπούδασε ζωγραφική και θέατρο στην Ελλάδα. Οι δάσκαλοι που την επηρέασαν είναι η Έλλη Γιωτοπούλου, ο Γιάννης Τσαρούχης, ο Τάσσος και ο Κάρολος Κουν.
